On October 4th 2011 the UNITE working group will gather for their 8th meeting at DTU Transport. In the period September 20-23 2011 PhD student Abdulrahman Alkhorayef visited the Decision Modelling Group at DTU Transport as part of the UNITE project. Abdul is currently doing his PhD study at ITS Leeds under the supervision of Professor Alan Pearman where the main effort is placed on the uncertainties and bias within large-scale investment proposals. Thus, the provisional concerns is to apply principal-agent theory and other point of views such as psychology and economics, to understand what are the causes of mega project errors and what usefull tools might be implemented to acvoid the latter. Inga Ambrasaite recently ended her Master Study Thesis at the DTU Transport and will join the DMG (Decision Modelling Group) at DTU Transport for a 1½ year period as Scientific Assistant. In addition, the course aims to provide the students with knowledge about how the assumptions stored in the models are shaped by their broader social environment.
